Ogun State Muslim Council (OMC) has congratulated prominent legal practitioner, Alhaji Hassan Taiwo Fajimite, on his election as the National President of the Muslim Lawyers' Association of Nigeria (MULAN), describing his emergence as a source of pride for Ogun State and the Muslim community.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its Secretary-General, Asiwaju Kamal'deen Akintunde, the Council, under the leadership of its President-General, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola, said Fajimite's election was well deserved in view of his contributions to the legal profession and the protection of the rights of Muslims.

The Council described the newly elected MULAN president as an illustrious son of Ogun State whose commitment to justice and Islamic advocacy had earned him national recognition.

According to the statement, Fajimite has distinguished himself through several legal interventions aimed at protecting the interests of Muslims, including his pro bono role as lead counsel to Muslim parents in the legal challenge against the management of the University of Ibadan International School over the use of the hijab by female Muslim students.

The OMC expressed confidence in Fajimite's ability to provide purposeful leadership for the association, expressing optimism that his tenure would further strengthen MULAN's role in promoting justice, defending constitutional rights and advancing the interests of Muslims within the framework of the law.

The Council prayed that Allah would grant the new MULAN president wisdom, sound health and guidance to record a successful and impactful tenure.
