Bauchi Health Agency Boss, Four Children Die in Road Accident
The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA), Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan Duguri, has died alongside four of his children in a road accident at Yalwan Duguri, Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, confirmed the tragedy, expressing profound sorrow over the death of the public servant and his children.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor described Duguri’s death as a monumental loss to Bauchi State, particularly its health sector.
Mohammed said the deceased distinguished himself through dedication, commitment and a strong passion for improving access to healthcare services for residents.
He also expressed sympathy with the bereaved family, the Duguri Emirate Council, friends, associates, colleagues and the people of Bauchi State over the tragedy.
The governor prayed for the full recovery of Suleiman, one of Duguri’s sons who survived the accident, asking Allah to grant him strength and comfort during the difficult period.
According to Mohammed, Duguri made significant contributions to the development of the state’s health contributory management system and efforts to make healthcare more accessible, particularly to less privileged residents.
He also commended the deceased’s contributions to the state’s medical team during pilgrimage exercises in Saudi Arabia, noting that his commitment to the health and well-being of pilgrims was widely valued.
Beyond his public service, the governor described Duguri as a close personal friend and classmate, saying the tragedy represented both the loss of a valued public servant and the painful departure of a trusted companion.
He acknowledged the anguish facing the bereaved family, noting that no words could adequately express the depth of their grief.
Mohammed prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and his children, accept their good deeds and grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also urged residents of the state to remember the family in their prayers and offer support and compassion during the period of mourning.
