Unilorin honours INEC Commissioner, Dr Agboke, as Ambassador

The University of Ilorin has approved the appointment of Dr. Mutiu Agboke, Resident Electoral Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Osun State, as an Ambassador of the University.

In a letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, the honour is in recognition of Agboke’s unwavering commitment to promoting the institution’s values and image.

According to the letter dated June 16, 2025 and addressed to the INEC Commissioner, the University’s management appreciated Agboke’s consistent efforts in portraying the institution positively through both academic engagements and public service.

“Through your academic engagements and public representation, you have consistently portrayed the University in a most favourable light, for which we are deeply appreciative.

“We are excited to honour your enduring loyalty and contributions to the Unilorin brand on this auspicious occasion,” Prof. Egbewole stated in the letter.

The investiture ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the University Auditorium as part of the University’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Dr. Agboke joins a select group of distinguished individuals recognized for upholding and projecting the ideals of one of Nigeria’s leading institutions of higher learning.
