The Federal Government has fulfilled President Bola Tinubu's reward pledge to the Super Falcons following their historic triumph at the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with each player receiving the naira equivalent of $100,000.

Based on the exchange rate of N1,340.92 to the dollar, each player received approximately N134.09 million, while coaches and other officials received the naira equivalent of $50,000, estimated at N67.05 million each.

The National Sports Commission (NSC), which announced the disbursement, said the payments were part of the presidential reward package promised to the team after winning their record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

In addition to the cash rewards, each player and official had earlier received a three-bedroom flat in Abuja and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The commission described the fulfilment of the pledge as recognition of the team's outstanding contribution to Nigerian sports and its continued dominance in African women's football.

Nigeria clinched the 2025 WAFCON title in July after staging a remarkable comeback to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final, having initially fallen two goals behind.
