The Yobe State Government has joined its colleagues in Kano and Borno State to a curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru towns.
Kano state governor imposed curfew after violent protesters invaded government house and other critical infrastructure, while the Borno state governor imposed 24 hours curfew after a bomb blast in Borno.
The curfew in Yobe was due to the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest in the state that some hoodlums have taken advantage of to vandalise and loot government and private property in the Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Special Adviser to Governor Mai Buni, on security matters, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdussallam (retd.), made available to reporters on Thursday.
The statement partly read, “The state government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Potiskum, Gashua and Nguru.
“The public is hereby advised to abide by the curfew order and stay at home for peace to reign in these areas and the state at large.”
Abdulsallam added, “Security agencies have been directed to ensure enforcement and full compliance of the curfew order.
