Top public relations professionals, agencies and organisations were honoured on Friday as the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) hosted the 10th Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA 2025) at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The milestone event, themed “Nox Excellentia – Night of Excellence,” marked a decade of celebrating innovation, professionalism and ethical practice within Nigeria’s public relations industry.
The ceremony drew leading communication experts, corporate executives, public sector leaders, academics, media practitioners and other stakeholders, further reinforcing LaPRIGA’s reputation as Nigeria’s foremost public relations awards platform.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of NIPR, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, fnipr, frpa, described LaPRIGA as a symbol of collective vision and professional excellence.
“Ten years on, LaPRIGA stands as a testament to what collective passion and commitment to excellence can achieve. This celebration reaffirms excellence as the enduring value of our profession,” he said.
Dr. Ayetutu noted that the awards had evolved into what many practitioners regard as the ‘Oscar of the Public Relations industry in Nigeria,’ commending the planning and selection committees for ensuring credibility, transparency and a world-class experience for the anniversary edition.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Selection Committee, Mr. Chido Nwakanma, disclosed that the 2025 edition attracted over 100 entries across 19 award categories, reflecting the growing acceptance of peer review and rising standards in professional practice.
He urged practitioners to continue subjecting their work to professional scrutiny, stressing that “excellence thrives when it is confidently showcased.”
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards to outstanding individuals, agencies and organisations whose campaigns demonstrated strategic insight, creativity, ethical standards and measurable impact.
Among the major winners were Mosron Communications, which emerged Public Relations Agency of the Year; Integrated Indigo, which won multiple categories including Model Agency of the Year; and Teksight Edge, recognised for excellence in technology-driven public relations.
Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Dr. Joseph Okonma, fnipr; Mr. Jide Ologun, Esq., mnipr; and Mr. Kayode Yeku, fnipr, in recognition of their enduring contributions to the profession.
The ceremony also featured special recognitions, including Award of Excellence for Promoting the Ideals of Public Relations to Seplat Energy, Most Reputable Brand of the Year to TGI, and Outstanding Broadcaster of the Year awards to Channels Television and Traffic Radio FM.
The event concluded with networking and entertainment, as participants reaffirmed their commitment to advancing ethical, innovative and impactful public relations practice in Lagos State and Nigeria.
With the successful conclusion of LaPRIGA 2025, the Lagos State Chapter of NIPR reiterated its resolve to sustain thought leadership and initiatives that elevate the practice and perception of public relations nationwide.
