A prominent political figure in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda, has ruled out endorsing any aspirant for the Ogun East Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that he is preparing to formally enter the race.

Paseda made his position known in a statement issued from Omu-Ijebu, where he disclosed that consultations were nearing completion for the launch of his senatorial bid under the campaign slogan, "Pa Se Won Da."

The former governorship aspirant dismissed calls for him to align with or support another candidate, arguing that genuine efforts at political consensus would have resulted in a clear and unconditional adoption of a candidate by opposition political platforms.

According to him, political parties and stakeholders advocating unity in Ogun East must demonstrate their commitment through concrete actions rather than public appeals.

Paseda expressed confidence that the 2027 elections would be shaped more by the competence and credibility of individual candidates than by party affiliations.

He noted that voters are increasingly willing to cross party lines in support of leaders they believe can deliver tangible results.

“The focus is shifting from party platforms to the quality of leadership and the ability of candidates to deliver on their promises,” he stated.

Outlining his vision for the senatorial district, Paseda said his campaign would be anchored on purposeful representation, responsive governance and measurable development outcomes for the people of Ogun East.

He identified key priorities to include deliverable-driven leadership, stronger collaboration with the next administration in Ogun State to promote economic growth and infrastructure development

The initiatives, he said, aimed at enhancing the state's competitiveness within the South-West region.

The politician further pledged to champion policies that would improve the welfare of constituents while supporting efforts to position Ogun State as a leading economic hub capable of competing favourably with neighbouring Lagos State.

Paseda maintained that the district was ready for a new direction in leadership, insisting that the time had come for a fresh approach to representation and governance.
