The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the investigation of the controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly called Portable, over his claim that he founded two cultists groups terrorising Lagos State.

The ‘Za Zu’ crooner, early Monday morning, in a video posted on his social media handles, bragged that he founded two cultists group; Ajay boys and One-Million Boys, that have been terrorizing Lagos State for long.

“Open your ears and listen well, have you heard about Ajah boys, One Million boys? I’m the one who founded it, go and ask,” he boasted in the Yoruba language.

His bragging comes shortly after people began ridiculing him for supporting APC during the just concluded Osun State Governorship election.

It also comes on the back of the death threat he claimed to have been receiving, following the support of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who laterlost the election.

The ‘One Million Boys’ cult group was infamous for terrorising residents in some parts of Lagos state years back.

But in a statement signed by the Force Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP ordered the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, to investigate the indicting statement.

The statement read, “sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorizing some part of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.

“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society.”

Apparently sensing danger after making the careless statement, the singer came back on a life video to deny his earlier statement saying he was referring to his fans and not the notorious cult group.

“I sat down on my own looking from trouble, it is music I do for living. I heard that they are talking about One-Million Boys, do you know what they call One-Million Boys? It is fans they call One-Million Boys.

“I am lazy, I can’t fight but I have Mopo (Mobile Police) behind me. It is like saying a Pastor has one million congregation, an herbalist or Alfa having One Millio behind them, I am ‘Son of God’ I have a lot of people behind me.

“Satan cannot build a house beside Jesus. If I say ‘One Million Boys’, it is fans they call ‘One-Million Boys’, I have so many people behind me, I am an angel, I have guns but I am not a thief. My fathers are warriors and hunters. So, use your brain, don’t spoil my grace… I am not a thief; I am not referring to that One Million Boys…”

Until December 2021 when he put out ‘Zazoo Zeh’, his hit track featuring Olamide, and Poco Lee; Portable was largely unknown in the music landscape.

The singer has since been in the news, mostly for controversial reasons.
