Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has lauded the Olubara of Ibara, Oba Dr. Jacob Olufemi Omolade Lafa II, as the Monarch clocks 90, saying Olubara, has never been found wanting in character.

Chief Obasanjo praised the monarch for his leadership style, which he said has made him unique and earned him his due respect among his equals.

The Balogun Owu described Olubara as a forthright man, who always says the truth no matter the situation.

Obasanjo was a bosom friend and classmate to Oba Omolade at Baptist Boys High school, Abeokuta during their Secondary School days.

The Monarch was further described as an epitome of good character and a fearless person, who is worthy of emulation.

The immediate past Governor of Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who chaired the birthday reception, also ascribed to Oba Omolade’s forthrightness stating that he is a man that will not give room for cheating.

Eulogizing the Monarch, another former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, appreciated God for giving him the opportunity to witness the 90th birthday of the Olubara.

He retold how he appointed Oba Omolade as the Olubara of Ibara when he was the Ogun State civilian Governor in 1992 and congratulated the Monarch and the people of Ibara for the love of God and care over the Monarch.

The Senator-elect, Ogun East Senatorial District and another former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel said Olubara was his senior at the Baptist Boys High School, saying Olubara has exhibited good characters since the time he knew him.

Earlier, Bishop of Egba West, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Right Bishop Samuel Ogundeji, in his sermon, urged Oba Omolade to continue with the true Christian life he has been practicing from the beginning saying there is nothing wrong for Christians to celebrate Christ in one's life.

The bishop however reminded all that power is transient, enjoying all public office holders and others holding one position or the other to always remember that one day the position and power they wield will expire.

In his vote of thanks, Oba Omolade, appreciated Obasanjo for his total support to make the birthday celebration a huge success, saying he will live to cherish the unquantifiable relationship between him and Obasanjo.

Olubara sued for love and good relationships among people irrespective of their political affiliation and belief.

The high point of the ceremony was a birthday dance with the celebrant, while Ayan Jesu was on the band stand and Gelede dancers from Ibara capped it with traditional dances.
