Bearing any last minute change, Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, a three times governorship candidate under different parties, has dropped his Senatorial ambition for a House of Representative ticket to represent Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency at the green chamber.
The hint was dropped by a former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Isola Adekunbi, who was also an aspirant for the same ticket.
It is however not on record that Isiaka obtained the house of representatives expression of interest and nomination forms but for the Senate of Ogun West for which he has been consulting with party leaders.
The former Speaker in a congratulatory message shared by his blood brother, Adekunbi Fatai, on his Facebook page, said the parry leaders 'has decided to field another person on this note, I congratulate my brother, Hon Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka..."
Isiaka contested against former Governor Ibikunle Amosun of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in 2011 on the platform of People's Party of Nigeria, PPN; but came third behind late General Adetunji Olurin of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He tried the same shot in 2015 on the platform of the PDP, but came second behind Amosun of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In 2019 GNI also contested against Governor Dapo Abiodun on the platform of African Democratic Party, ADC, but came distance third behind Abiodun and Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM.
It was rumoured that the former Governor Amosun gave the same Reps ticket to Isiaka in 2019 with a view to forming alliance with Akinlade, but was rejected based on some irreconcilable differences.
Isiaka has since then joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
