The newly elected factional Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, Sikirulai Ogundele has vowed to run an all-inclusive party administration.

He said the days when the party were built round an individual's ambition were gone.

"Now is the time to build an all-inclusive party administration devoid of biased leadership or sectional interest," he said.

Ogundele, who is returning for a second term in office, spoke on Friday in Abeokuta, the state capital, during the inauguration of the State Executive Committee of the party.

"On behalf of my colleagues in the State Working Committee of the PDP, I assure you that we will not let you down. We shall not fail nor falter. We will serve you with all our might and strength.

"But, in doing this, we shall run an all-inclusive party administration where every member of the party will take ownership of the party and become co-owners, partners and true stakeholders."

Ogundele announced the inauguration of two standing committees, namely the Peace and Reconciliation and Finance Committee.

While the Peace and Reconciliation Committee is chaired by the 2023 Deputy Governorship candidate of the party in Ogun State, Hon. Adekunle Abdulkadir Akinlade, the Finance Committee is chaired by a party chieftain, Hon. Dimeji Fabiyi.

He also announced the appointment of Hon. Akinlade as Strategic Political Advisor (SPA)

"I must not forget to express my profound gratitude to our forthright leaders, resilient followers, committed party members and stakeholders in Ogun State, for shunning pecuniary gains, weathering the storm and standing by and for the truth.

“I appreciate you for believing in us and entrusting us with a fresh four-year mandate to pilot the affairs of our great party in Ogun State," he added.

Ogundele directed the Local Government Chairmen to go back home and inaugurate the Local Government and Ward Executives.

He urged the Peace and Reconciliation Committee "to reach out to all aggrieved members and stakeholders, build new bridges across varying political interests and liaise with other groups within the party to join the fold."
