The race for the number one seat in the country continues to heighten as the three main contenders continue to secure victories in states.
Peter Obi of Labour Party has been declared the winner of Enugu State election, while Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has won his home state of Adamawa and PDP controlled Akwa Ibom State.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress has also been declared winner of the Saturday’s election in Nasarawa state.
In Enugu, The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has formally declared the candidate of Labour Party, as the winner of the presidential election the state.
Obi defeated candidates of other political parties in all the 17 local government areas of the state.
The Enugu State Collation Officer, Professor Ofo Iweh announced the results on Monday at INEC headquarters in Enugu.
Obi scored 428, 640 to defeat Atiku, who came distant second with 15, 747, while Tinubu was far behind in the third position with 4, 772. APGA scored 1, 548 and NNPP scored 1808.
Prof Iweh also announced that total number of votes cast were 468, 891 while total valid votes were 456, 424. 12, 467 votes were rejected.
In a related development, Obi also won the APC controlled state of Nasarawa with 188, 126, closely followed by the APC with 172, 922 votes, while the PDP came third with 147, 093.
In the PDP controlled Akwa Ibom state, Alhaji Atiku has won the presidential elections in the state 214, 012 votes, and was closely followed Tinubu who 160, 620 votes.
Labour Party came third with 132, 683 votes, while Young Progressives Party, YPP and New Nigerian People's Party, NNPP came fourth and fifth with 27, 179 and 7, 796 votes respectively.
Announcing the results in Uyo on Monday, the State Collation officer for the 2023 Presidential election in Akwa Ibom, Prof. Emmanuel Adigio, Vice Chancellor, Nigeria Maritime University said the total number of votes cast were 587, 417.
Adigio said registered voters were 2, 357, 418; accredited voters, 594, 450; total valid votes were 555, 089, while rejected votes were 32, 328.
Atiku, unlike his APC counterpart, won his home state of Adamawa with 451, 632 votes to defeat Tinubu who came far behind in the second position with 142, 967 votes, while the Labour Part also polled 103, 287 to secure the third position.
Meanwhile, Atiku of the PDP is currently taking the lead in Kaduna State with about 113, 630 votes, having scored 366, 817 votes to lead Tinubu who polled 253, 187 votes, in the 16 local governments so far declared.
