Justice Inyang Ekwo of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Tuesday granted bail to the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha in the sum of at N500million.

The trial Judge while ruling on the bail application filed on Monday also ask the defendant to produce one surety in like sum.

The judge also rejected the objection of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to Okorocha’s bail application.

The judge also granted bail to Okorocha’s co-defendant, Anyim Nyerere Chinenye on the conditions attached to the administrative bail earlier granted him by the EFCC.

Okorocha was also ordered to deposit his international passport with the registry of the court and should not travel outside the jurisdiction of the court without the permission of the court

Trial is to commence on the case on November 7.
