The Morocco national football team has conceded the first goal from an opposition player in the ongoing 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

France left full back, Theo Hernandez, only needed five minutes to put the fist goal by any opposition player in the tournament past the goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, in the second semi final game between the two nations.

The Atlas Lions kicked off the tournament in group F with a clean sheet with Croatia at Al-Bayt Stadium, followed by a 2-0 win over Belgium at Al-Thumama Stadium.

On match day three for the team, Morocco defeated Canada by 2 goals to 1, but the one goal was an own goal scored by Morocco defender, Nayef Aguerd.

Morocco made history following their shock 1-0 defeat of European giants Portugal to become the first African nation to reach the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions reached the quarter-finals after claiming the scalp of Spain in a dramatic penalty shootout during the round of 16.

Spanish-born Achraf Hakimi sealed the historic 3-0 win on penalties, after Spain missed all three of its penalties, following a 0-0 tie over 120 intense minutes.

As at the 75th minute, France is still leading by a loan goal.
