Iyabo Ojo, the Nigerian actress, says Omowunmi, the wife of Mohbad, has agreed to a DNA test to ascertain the paternity of her child with the late singer.
In a recent chat with Daddy Freeze, a social media influencer, the controversial actress claimed Omowunmi, through her lawyer, demanded that the DNA be conducted at three hospitals, one of which must be in the United States.
She also said Omowunmi asked her husband’s family to sponsor the DNA tests and the trip to the United States.
Iyabo claimed the family has, however, agreed to the said terms.
“But you know she has her lawyers. Their family matter is something I do not want to get involved with,” she said.
“I just decided to wade in and tell Wunmi, ‘What about the DNA thing?’ I had to do that with a lot of maturity.
"You have to understand that it is not easy. She is a mother. She is an adult. Someone cannot just come to me and say, ‘Iyabo, get a DNA done for your child’. It kinda sounds funny.
“They also requested that Mohbad’s father needs to get the test done first. He needs to get a court order.
“He also needs to make sure that the test is done in three places, which America is part of. And they have to fund the whole bill. They have also responded that they are ready to do all that.”
Mohbad died on September 12 and was buried the following day.
His body was subsequently exhumed by police for autopsy.
The circumstances surrounding his death have continued to stir up controversies.
Amid the controversies, Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, warned that nobody should collect his son’s body for burial without his approval.
He also called for a DNA test to be conducted to ascertain the paternity of Omowunmi’s child.
