The announcement was made at a ceremony in Lagos on June 21, where company executives, government officials, traditional rulers and industry stakeholders gathered to witness the transition.
The company said the rebranding reflects its evolution as one of Nigeria's leading building solutions providers and signals a new phase focused on growth, innovation and sustainability.
Speaking at the unveiling, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, described the new identity as an exciting chapter in the company's history.
He said while the corporate name has changed, the organisation's commitment to supporting Nigeria's infrastructure development, housing sector and industrialisation remains unchanged.
According to him, HBM Nigeria Plc will continue to provide quality cement, concrete, aggregates and innovative building solutions while maintaining its focus on operational excellence, customer satisfaction and responsible business practices.
He added that the transition would be implemented in phases across the company's nationwide operations to ensure seamless business continuity for customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.
Chairman of the company, Gbenga Oyebode, expressed confidence that the new corporate identity would strengthen stakeholder trust and position the company for long-term success.
He thanked shareholders, management and employees for their continued support and dedication, noting that the company remains committed to creating sustainable value and delivering on its strategic ambitions.
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, who attended the event, commended the company for its contributions to Nigeria's infrastructure development.
He praised the quality of its products and highlighted its support for major projects across the country, describing the firm's standards and integrity as exemplary.
Among dignitaries present at the ceremony were the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Peter Odey, representatives of the governors of Lagos and Ogun states, traditional rulers from Cross River, Gombe and Ogun states, as well as business leaders and members of the company's current and former boards.
The company said the rollout of its new branding and customer-facing communications would continue progressively across all operational touchpoints to ensure consistency and a seamless experience for stakeholders.
Formerly known as Lafarge Africa Plc, HBM Nigeria Plc is now a member of the Huaxin Building Materials Group, a global construction materials manufacturer headquartered in Wuhan, China.
