Some overzealous security aides attached to the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Friday, attacked the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, in Joga Orile area of Ogun State.
Adigun, a senior reporter with the Ogun State Television, according to a short clip which was secretly recorded, the security operatives numbering about 8 were seen manhandling the journalist.
The attack, according to the clip, was conducted when the governor was already seated and the national anthem was going on.
The fully armed security aides, some of whom were hooded, included men of the Nigeria Police, operatives of NSCDC, and others dressed in a camouflage.
Adigun said the governor was amiable, but that his security aides attacked not only him but other journalists including his cameramen.

Adigun was at Joga Orile to report the conferment of Chieftaincy title, Baba Oba of Joga Orile, on the Osun State governor as part of his 66th birthday, by the Monarch of the town, Oba Adeyemi Adekeye.
Why recounting his ordeal in the hands of the overzealous operatives, Adigun said, "I was there to cover the event for my station, which was duly paid for, so if not for this, I have no business, and I won't even near Oke Ata not to talk of Joga Orile.
"The governor was amiable, but all the security details were unruly. They started behaving anyhow immediately when their governor arrived, pushing and harassing every journalist, even those who came with other special Guests from Osun State.
"They pushed my cameraman and other camera men, thought that was enough until they got to where we were standing, I was harassed, embarrassed, and they nearly tore my cloth. We dragged, as you can see in this video, taken by one of us who disguised.
"I tried to get to those who harassed us, then I noticed they were putting on a different uniform from the normal police uniform we all know, bellaruslike, no name tag, they were on nose mask and holding petal like they were sent to Journalists.
"I was manhandled and roughened and imagined what will happen to those without tags and any means of identification at an event of such."
When contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to the Osun governor, Olawale Rasheed, claimed that the affected security aides were not that of Osun State but that of Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun.
When told that journalists in Ogun State know the security details of the governor and that none of them was involved, the CPS insisted that all the details attached to his boss had to stand down for those of Ogun governor.
"I was at the event and I can't tell you authoritatively that they were not our security. It is against the rule for security to take charge in another state. They are for your governor."
Olawale said he had to also plead with the security before they allowed his cameraman to move near the place where pictures were been taking.
