The deposed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has been reinstated as the Emir of Kano.

He was reinstated, Thursday, by the government of Kano State, following the repeal of the law which created five emirates in Kano State by the immediate past administration of Abdullahi Ganduje.

Governor Abba Yusuf announced the decision after signing the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Bill 2024 into law.

Kano State House of Assembly had earlier repealed the law, sacking all the five emirates created by Ganduje.
