Popular human right lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) has taken up the case against the suspended Olorile of Orile Ifo in Ifo area of Ogun State, Oba Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi for attacking Septuagenarian, Elder Areola Abraham.

The National Vice President of the Committee for the Defence of Human Right, Comrade Yinka Folarin who revealed this said Falana was briefed at his Ikeja office on Wednesday.

Folarin further hinted that the human right lawyer is ready to file for the breach of fundamental right of Elder Areola.

“Falana assured the victim that his fundamental rights would be upheld and that the chamber would provide the necessary legal assistance,”

Oba Ogunjobi has been remanded in Ilaro prison since Tuesday following his failure to meet the bail conditions given to him by an Ifo magistrate court.

Ogunjobi was arraigned on Tuesday on three count charges of conspiracy, public assault and conduct likely to breach peace; and was granted bail on N5 million with two sureties in the like sum.

Oba Ogunjobi, it was gathered, has not been able to meet up with the condition due to discrepancy in his names, and his likely to spend the second night in prison custody.

It was gathered that the Oba spelt his name as ‘Abdul Semiu’ and not Semiu in his statement with the police and the charge sheet with the court.

The CDHR hinted that Oba Ogunjobi is also likely to be charged with pejury for alleged misinformation to both the police and the court.
