Department of the State Services, DSS has arrested Omoyele Sowore, a human right activist, upon his arrival in the country from United States.
Sowore was picked up at the Muritala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos in the early hours of Sunday.
He was reportedly detained by the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, over a watchlist by the Service.
Sahara Reporters, an online newspaper promoted by Sowore has hinted in Thursday that he would be arrested upon arrival in the country.
Sowore returned to US after five years of protracted litigation between him and the government.
President Bola Tinubu’s administration withdrawn the case against Sowore earlier in the year.
His arrest might not be unconnected with the recent nationwide protest to end hunger and bad governance in the country.
