Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State as appointed some of his immediate former commissioners as Special Advisers.
The new Special Advisers are to oversee the ministries where they served in the first term of the Governor as Commissioners.
According to a statement by Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, the former Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to Governor Abiodun, Dapo Okubadejo, was re-appointed as the Chief Economic Adviser, while the immediate past Budget and Planning Commissioner, Olaolu Olabimtan will serve as Adviser in the same ministry.
Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, a former Commissioner in the Housing Ministry who will serve as special Adviser in the same ministry and Dr Tomi Coker, a former Health Commissioner now posted to the same ministry as Special Adviser.
Engineer Adebowale Akinsanya who served as the Commissioner for works and infrastructure has been posted to the same ministry as Special Adviser, while the immediate past Attorney General and justice Commissioner, Oluwasina Ogungbade, has been posted to the justice ministry as Adviser.
With the appointment, the Governor is likely to re-appoint them as Commissioners in the State Executive Council when the cabinet is formed, a source hinted.
