President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with all the 23 presidential aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Also at the meeting, it was gathered is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Chief of Staff to the President and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and publicity.
This is coming amidst the rumour that the President may likely announce his preferred candidate amongst the 23 aspirants.
All the aspirants, except one, have agreed to the supremacy of the party and the privilege of Buhari to adopt an aspirant for the primaries, according to the Chairman of the Presidential Screening Committee and former Chairman of the Party, John Oyegun.
Oyegun has pruned the number of the aspirants to 13, disqualifying 10 candidates, but the recommendation was rejected by the leadership of the Party.
The meeting which began at 9pm also has in attendance the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.
Sources privy to the meeting disclosed that the agenda is centred around how the party stakeholders can arrive at a consensus ahead of the convention slated for June 6 and 8 in Abuja.
Among those attending the meeting includes the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi among others
