The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has said that the Junior Chamber International, JCI, since its inception, has been committed to the advancement of humanity, creation of better society and development of quality leadership within the youth space.
The Deputy Governor said Nigeria as a country cannot experience meaningful progress if the youths fail to play meaningful role in nation building, the area which she said JCI is properly manning.
Salako-Oyedele also said all hands must be on deck with common goal of moving the state and the nation in general forward.

She made this submission at the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Rockcity Ogun Youth Development and Empowerment Summit held at the June 12 Cultural Center in Abeokuta the state capital.
The summit also had in attendance the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Dr. Kehinde, Special Assistant on Youths and Sports, Comrade Olamide Lawal, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, JCI Senator, Nneka Itabor, chairperson, JCI Nigeria Senate Association, Olamilekan Agbelese (Laycon) among others.
Salako who was also the keynote speaker at the summit revealed that Dapo Abiodun led administration has made progress in terms of youth empowerment and development.
She added that there is still much more to be done to ensure that youths who are ready to be employers of labor or be employees are equipped with the appropriate skills to take advantage of the influx of investors moving into the State.
On his parts, the JCI Rock City President, JCIN Ambassador, Olalekan Egbetola explained that the summit was organised to tackle the rate of economic challenges in the state especially among the Nigeria Youths.

Egbetola who expressed confidence that the summit will create more impact said as Jaycees, the organization see the need to come in and bridge this gap by uniting relevant sectors of the economy like Ministries of Youths & Sports, Culture & Tourism, Job creation and Employment, as well as other corporate organisations that believe in Youth Development, to discuss, deliberate and set young people on the pathway to economic prosperity.
The summit chairperson, JC Olakanye Damilola who spoke on the theme of program "Youth and Leadership Developments: A panacea of Nation Building, said the summit was designed to equip young individuals with the cogent information and essential need for empowerment and development for themself and the nation.
The summit was also an avenue for JCI Rockcity to reward outstanding young persons in Ogun state through the TOYP Award across different sectors in Ogun state.
The program provided Youths in attendance with great opportunity where some participants won landed property, job opportunities and many more.
