The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has expressed strong optimism that Team Nigeria will make the nation proud at the ongoing 6th Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Salako-Oyedele, who is part of the Nigerian Sports Commission’s delegation to the international sporting event, said she was confident that Nigerian athletes would compete with passion, excellence, and pride.
Speaking with journalists, the Deputy Governor described the Games as another golden opportunity for Nigerian athletes to demonstrate their talent, discipline, and commitment to excellence on the global stage.
“This is a proud moment for our athletes and for Nigeria as a whole. The Solidarity Games provide a platform for us to showcase our skills and values beyond borders,” she said.
Salako-Oyedele further noted that Ogun State’s growing reputation in sports development was a reflection of the visionary leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, under whose administration several sporting initiatives have been successfully implemented.
“The successful hosting of the National Sports Festival and other recent initiatives have positioned Ogun as a truly sports-loving and sports-driven state,” she added.
The Deputy Governor emphasized that Ogun State remains committed to supporting national sports development and nurturing young talents capable of representing Nigeria in international competitions.
The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games brings together athletes from over 50 countries, promoting unity, friendship, and cooperation through sports across religious and cultural boundaries.
