The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has commenced a three-day training programme for selected staff on the Collation Support and Result Verification System (CSRVS) as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The training, which began on Monday, is aimed at equipping technical and administrative personnel with the operational skills required to support the electronic processing and collation of election results using computers and relevant software applications.

The initiative is part of the Commission’s efforts to minimise errors, improve accuracy and strengthen the efficiency and credibility of the result collation process ahead of the 2027 general elections and other off-cycle polls.

In his opening remarks, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke, represented by the Head of the Electoral Operations Department, Dr. Tope Akanmu, welcomed participants to the state office and urged them to take full advantage of the training.

Agboke charged the participants to demonstrate commitment, professionalism and diligence, stressing the need for them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Commission.

He also urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities during the 2027 general elections.

The training is being facilitated by Mr. Victor Christopher of the Electoral Operations Department at INEC Headquarters and is expected to continue for the next two days.

The exercise underscores INEC’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of its personnel, leveraging technology and promoting a more accurate, transparent and credible electoral process in Nigeria.
