FMC commemorates 30th anniversary with lectures on prostate cancer, kidney failure

The Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, Ogun State would be commemorating its 30th anniversary, first in the series, with lectures on prostate cancer and kidney failure.

The lectures which would be held at the Muhammadu Buhari International Conference Center, according toa statement by the institution's head of Public Relations and Information, Segun Orisajo, promise to be educative and interactive.

The lecture on the prostate cancer titled, Prostate Cancer: The Horror of Aging, would be delivered by Consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon at the Obafemi Awolowo University, (OAU) Ile Ife, Osun State, Prof Tajudeen A. Badmus.

Prof Fatiu A. Arogundade, an Honorary Consultant Physician/ Nephrologist at the same university would discuss the second lecture titled Kidney Failure: An Emerging Epidemic with Catastrophic Outcomes.

The statement reads, “Federal Medical Centre Idi-Aba Abeokuta is inviting the general public to the first in the series of the Hospital's 30th anniversary commemorative lectures coming up on Thursday 26th January, 2023.

“Venue is the Muhammadu Buhari International Conference Centre, Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta, starting at 10 .00 in the morning.

“The first lecture for the day titled: Prostate Cancer: The Horror of Aging, is to be delivered by Prof T.A Badmus, Consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State

“The second lecture, titled: Kidney Failure: An Emerging Epidemic with Catastrophic Outcomes is to be delivered by Prof Fatiu Abiola Arogundade, Honorary Consultant Physician/ Nephrologist at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex Ile-Ife Osun State.”
