The leadership of Ibara Housing Estate Mosque in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta, Ogun State has warned politician to stay away from the ‘notice of demolition’ served on the mosque by the government.
It also appealed to worshippers and members of the Muslim community across the state and beyond to remain calm as the issue is being addressed.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Arowosegbe AbdurRahmon, the mosque urged members to refrain from making comments or spreading information that could politicise the matter or create tension.
“We appeal to everyone to remain calm and avoid spreading or discussing the matter in a way that may appear confrontational or politicized.
“We are aware that some political elements are trying to hijack this issue for their own interests, but we must not allow that to happen.”
The leadership assured members that it is already taking lawful and peaceful steps to address the issue and expressed confidence that divine intervention will prevail.
“Let us continue to handle the situation with wisdom, patience, and unity. On our part, we are taking all necessary lawful and peaceful steps, and we believe that Allah (SWT), who has always assisted His cause, will not abandon us,” the statement added.
