Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has prioritised infrastructure and what he called ‘statewide’ with allocation of larger percentages of 27 and 15 percentages to the two items in the 2023 budget estimate.
While a total of N129.4 billion was allocated to infrastructure in the total budget of N472.3 billion, ‘statewide’ received the second largest share of N70.7b.
The Governor did not explain what he meant be ‘statewide’ during the budget presentation before the State House of Assembly.
According to the key allocations as presented before the Assembly, education followed with N66.8b representing 14%; while health delivery received a total allocation of N51.5b representing 11%.
General Public Service Financial and fiscal Affairs followed with allocation of N31.6b representing 7%; while housing and community development gets a total allocation of N29.1b representing 6%.
