The festival, which marks a significant milestone in the club’s development, is being organised in partnership with the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (D7G) to deliver a world-class sporting and lifestyle experience for participants and guests.

The historic event is expected to showcase the rich tradition of polo while promoting excellence, sportsmanship, and cultural heritage.

Polo enthusiasts, corporate executives, high-net-worth individuals, and socialites from across the country are anticipated to attend, further positioning Abeokuta as an emerging hub for elite sports and tourism.

Speaking ahead of the festival, the President of the Abeokuta Polo Club, Dr. Sheriff Adams Abdulrahman, described the collaboration with D7G as a strong endorsement of the club’s vision to place Abeokuta prominently on Nigeria’s polo and social map.

He noted that the festival would combine competitive polo, quality hospitality experiences, cultural displays, and refined social engagements.

According to him, beyond the sporting spectacle, the event is projected to stimulate economic activities within the host community by attracting visitors and encouraging tourism-related businesses.

The Maiden Abeokuta Polo Festival, themed “Abeokuta Polo – Where Tradition Meets Excellence,” will also provide networking opportunities for stakeholders, reinforcing the blend of sport, culture, and lifestyle that the club seeks to promote.

The event further underscores D7G’s commitment to supporting sports development, lifestyle initiatives, and community growth, while contributing to efforts to place Abeokuta firmly on Nigeria’s polo and social calendar.
