Breaking: Tinubu appoints governing council for Abeokuta medicine varsity, others

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the governing council for the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Council is chaired by a healthcare practitioner who specialises in obstetrics and gynaecology Usman Shanawa.

Members of the council are Kabiru Yahaya, Chinenye Moses, Uyiosasere Ekhosuehi, and Joshua Adewale.

The approval was communicated through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

The bill for the establishment of the University was sponsored by former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who represented Ogun Central at the National Assembly.

The bill was signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
