The Management of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, has closed down the school following a violent clash between a cult group and the host community of Imameje in the early hours of Sunday.
HorizonTimes gathered that the clash between the cult group and the members of the host community led to the burning of a house belonging to the head of the community.
The town crier of the community was also reported to have lost his house to the violent clash.
The immediate cause of the clash is still very sketchy at the time of filling this report.
The Registrar of the Institution, Dapo Oke, announced the shutting down of the school in a statement released on Sunday.
The Management advised parents and guardians to recall their wards living within the community with immediate effect.
"Following the recent clash between Students and members of the University Host Community in the early hours of today, particularly, the Imameje Community which led to the eruption of violence, the University Management hereby announces the closing down of the University.
"In the meantime, Parents and Guardians are hereby advised to recall their wards particularly those living in and around Iwameje back home immediately.
"Efforts are being made with law enforcement agents to restore peace and order in the community affected," the statement read.
