Few hours after the Chairman of Ogun State Nigeria Labour Congress, Emmanuel Bankole, denied signing any agreement with the government, the Organised Labour has suspended the strike with immediate effect.
In a very short press statement sent to HorizonTimes by Bankole, all workers were ‘enjoined’ to resume their duties posts with immediate effect.
The statement reads, “Following the Memorandum of Action reached between the Organised Labour and the State Government, after series of meetings and negotiation, the Organised Labour hereby suspends the ongoing Industrial action with immediate effect.”
“All workers are hereby enjoined to resume at their duty posts immediately.”
The statement was signed by the NLC Chairman, Bankole, TUC Chairman, Akeem Lasisi and Olude Isa, JNC Chairman.
No condition was stated for the suspension of the strike.
NLC Chairman, had told workers few hours ago that the strike continues on Monday and had promised to call a congress to discuss the outcome of the meeting with the government.
He had also denied signing any document with the government.
