It was an upset encounter, Saturday night, when Israel saw off Brazil from the ongoing U20 World Cup in Argentina after a 3 - 2 victory in the quarter finals played at the San Juan Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Brazil opened scoring in the 56th minute through Marcos Leonardo after a fine assist from Matheus Martins.
Israel equalized, four minutes later when Anan Khalaili converted an assist from El Yam Kancepolsky.
With few minutes remaining in regulation time, Brazil regained the lead through Matheus Nascimento after a great play from Andrey Santos, but Israel responded two minutes later as Ariel Shibi Shibli converted an assist from Ilay Feingold.
The encounter was then forced into an extra time.
At the 105th minute, Dor David Turgeman scored the winner for Israel to become the first team to secure a slot in the last four.
