As the Qatar and Turkey facilitated ceasfire between Israel and Palestine reaches the fourth day, Hamas military wind has released 11 Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Israeli captives released on Monday, according to Israeli PM’s office, included eight children amongst who were three-year-old twins.
There are also four 12-year-olds and two 16-year-olds.
The eleven Israeli captives released in Gaza are back in Israel, the military says.
"We have now successfully facilitated the release and transfer of 11 hostages held in Gaza.
"The ICRC was not involved in the negotiations, and its role has been to facilitate the agreement as a neutral intermediary," posted Delegation of International Committee of the Red Cross In Israel and Occupied Territories on its official X page.
Two German teenagers were also amongst the captives released.
"Annalena Baerbock welcomed the release of two German teenagers who were among the 11 captives freed this evening.
"The German foreign minister also called for the release of all captives still held in Gaza," Al-Jazeerah reported.
Hamas says three Palestinian women and 30 children are also to be freed in the fourth exchange since the Gaza truce came into effect last week.
A Palesrinian man, Ahmad Jaradat, the husband of a Palestinian woman expected to be released from Israeli prison Monday night, said he was surprised to see his wife Etaf’s name on the list.
Jaradat said it took him five hours to get to Ramallah by car from his home near Jenin to welcome his wife.
“My wife has been arrested for three years. I only visited her four times,” he said.
A spokesman for Qatar’s foreign ministry says two-day extension of Gaza truce is positive sign that can hopefully “prepare the ground for a more sustainable truce”.
Palestinians in Gaza have welcomed announcement by Qatar and Hamas that truce would be extended to Thursday morning.
