Breaking: EFCC arraigns Buhari's minister, Sirika, three others for N2.7bn fraud

Justice Sylvanus Oriji of a Federal High Court in Abuja, Thursday, granted N100m bail each with two sureties to a former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, his daughter, Fatimah, and two others.

They are being tried over an alleged fraud to the tune of N2.7bn.

According to the court, the sureties must have landed properties in Abuja and also responsible citizens.

The sureties must depose to an affidavit of means.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned the former Minister of Aviation, his daughter, and two other suspects.

Sirika and daughter were charged with one Jalal Hamma, and Al-Duraq Investment Ltd, on charges of abusing their positions to launder the alleged fund.

The suspects are facing charges over contract fraud uncovered in the Aviation Ministry under Sirika.
