The crescent for the month of Dhul Hijjah 1444 has been sighted in Saudi Arabia.
This was announced via the official and verified handles of the two holy mosques on all social media handles.
With the announcement, Monday, 19th June 2023 is the 1st Dhul Hijjah 1444; while Tuesday, 27th June 2022 is the day of 'Arafah.
On Wednesday, 28th of June, 2023 equivalent to the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, 1444, Muslims across the world will celebrate the Eid-l-Kabir (Festival of sacrifice).
According to a sound hadith reported by Buhari, there are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.
Muslims across the world, except those on hajj, are required to fast on the day of 'Arafah. The prophet (SAW) said, "Fasting on the day of 'Arafah expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.
