Bandits have killed three people during an attack on Kasabo community in Saminaka, Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The attack reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday, with the assailants invading the community in large numbers before retreating to their hideout.

A resident, Aminu Salisu, who spoke with journalists said many residents escaped through the bush during the attack.

He, however, disclosed that the attackers killed three people before leaving the community.

Reacting to the incident during a condolence visit to the community on Tuesday, Governor Nasir Idris described the killings as a tragic and unacceptable act of violence against innocent citizens.

The governor donated N116m to the families of the victims and members of the community as part of efforts to support them following the attack.

Idris also assured residents that his administration would strengthen collaboration with security agencies and take necessary measures to protect lives and property across the state.

Responding, the Dan Masani of Saminaka, Alhaji Mohammed Bashir, described the killings as a great loss to the community.
