The Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu is to lead the Gubernatorial Campaign Council for the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti State, according to the composition released by the National Organising Committee of the All {Progressives congress, APC.
While the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege will act as the Vice Chairman of the Council, other governors on the list include Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Inuwa Yahya of Gombe State, Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa State, Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers.
While the likes of the former Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and presidential hopeful on the platform of the parry made the list, three APC governors from the South West where the election is will hold were curiously not on the list.
They are Governors Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State.
Other Senators on the 61-man list include the former governors of Abia and Borno States, Orji Uzor Kalu and Kashim Shetima respectively, while the Council has Barrister Smart Iheasor as the Secretary.
According to the statement, the Council was composed by the National Chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Adamu, in consultation with the National Working Committee, NWC, with the objective of ensuring success at the election.
