The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disowned a purported official list of successful candidates from its recently concluded primaries circulating on social media and other platforms, describing it as fake and unauthorised.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the party's National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the APC had not released any official list of winners from the primaries.

"The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently conducted primaries," Morka said.

He urged party members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard any publication or report claiming to announce the outcome of the primaries, stressing that such reports were not authorised by the party.

According to him, successful candidates will be formally notified through the party's official communication channels, after which certificates of return will be issued in line with the party's established procedures.

Morka further advised members of the public to rely solely on official statements and announcements from the APC regarding the outcome of the primaries.

The development comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for political parties to upload the names of candidates that emerged from their primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although the APC maintained that the authentic list of successful candidates had yet to be released, the News Agency of Nigeria reported, citing party sources, that internal collation and verification of the primary election results were ongoing before the official publication of the list.

According to the source, the party deemed it necessary to distance itself from the circulating fake list to prevent misinformation and confusion among aspirants, party members and the electorate.
