Amosun promises to support victims of Ifo tanker explosion

Former Governor of Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has promised to support the victims of Saturday’s tanker explosion in Ifo area of the State, in other to assuage the effect of the incident.

A fuel tanker loaded with 45, 000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit otherwise called petrol, Saturday, fell and exploded at Olambe along Matogun road in the local government.

Although, no life was lost to the incident, many houses and shops were raised in the resulting inferno.

The former Governor, in a statement signed by his media aide, Bola Adeyemi, symphatised with the victim, while asking them to take solace in the fact that no life was lost.

The statement read, “Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has sympathised with victims of the fire explosion, involving a Petrol-laden Tanker that fell and spilled its contents in Olambe, Akute road, Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, on Saturday, 3rd September, 2022.

“Senator Amosun who described the incident, which affected some residential buildings, shops and churches, as saddening, however, thanked the Almighty God that no life was lost in the inferno that resulted from the accident.

“I sympathise with all our people who lost properties, goods, and other sources of livelihood to the unfortunate incident.

“My heart and thoughts also go to the Pastors and the entire congregation of the churches affected by the incident.

“I enjoin you to take consolation in the fact that no life was lost in the incident. May the Almighty God comfort you all, and give you the fortitude to bear the losses”. Amosun said.

Amosun however enjoined motorists, particularly drivers of articulated vehicles to always ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
