The Comptroller, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, Ikeja, MS Shuaibu, has reaffirmed the Service’s readiness to collaborate with the Oko Opo Widows Foundation in its continuous efforts to support widows and vulnerable groups.
Comptroller Shuaibu made this known while receiving the Foundation’s promoter, Ambassador (Dr.) Babatunde Adeyemo, in his office on Tuesday.
He noted that the NCS Care Scheme will continue to align with organisations committed to uplifting disadvantaged members of society.
“We are grateful for what you are doing and for partnering with us. We will deliberate on your request and get back to you,” he said.
Ambassador Adeyemo applauded the NCS for its support during last year’s Customs Care Initiative outreach held in collaboration with the Foundation, describing the impact on beneficiaries in Ogun State as remarkable.
He also recalled how a near-tragic encounter with an NCS operative on December 8, 2024, became an opportunity to build a meaningful partnership aimed at improving the welfare of widows.
Adeyemo announced that the next empowerment programme for widows will hold on December 26, 2025, at Pelican Valley Estate, Laderin, Abeokuta, and requested the Comptroller’s presence, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to humanitarian service.
