Hours after the arrest of the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero, operatives from Department of State Services have invaded the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP.
According to a tweet from the verified handle of the organization on X, the operatives occupied the Abuja office around noon, demanding the directors of the organization.
“Officers from Nigerian’s State Security Service (SSS) are presently unlawfully occupying SERAP’s office in Abuja, seeking to see our directors,” the organization tweeted.
It however called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the secret agency to end harassment, intimidation and attack on the rights of Nigerians.
SERAP, on Sunday, gave 48 hours to Tinubu to reverse the pump price of petroleum.
Ajaero was reportedly arrested Monday morning on his way to the Unitied Kingdom for an official assignment.
While he was reportedly arrested by the DSS, facts are emerging that he was actually arrested by the officers from the office of the National Security Adviser.
