The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally endorsed the emergence of Alhaji Kabiru Turaki as the new National Chairman of the party, describing his victory as a strong vote of confidence in his integrity, competence, and long-standing service to the PDP and the nation.

In a congratulatory message dated November 23 and signed by the Chairman of the Forum, Tony Aziegbemi—who also chairs the Edo State chapter—alongside 25 other state chairmen, the Forum said Turaki’s election to lead the 20-member National Working Committee (NWC) reflects the collective desire of stakeholders for experienced and unifying leadership.

“We are confident that under your distinguished leadership, the Peoples Democratic Party will continue to advance its mission of rescuing and rebuilding Nigeria,” the Forum stated.

The chairmen also commended PDP governors for their roles in ensuring a smooth national convention. They expressed particular appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for hosting the elective convention in Ibadan, praising the organisation and seamless conduct of the event.

The Forum further applauded the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, as well as the Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) and Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri. Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun were also acknowledged for their contributions.

Reaffirming the party’s resilience despite political pressures and institutional challenges, the chairmen declared their commitment to defending the ideals of the PDP.

The new National Working Committee emerged from the party’s National Elective Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, from November 15 to 16, 2025.
