The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has disbursed a total of Seventy Five Million, Six Hundred and Seventeen Thousand and Forty Naira only to Pilgrims who participated in the 2023 hajj exercise from Ogun State.

The refund was for services not fully rendered to pilgrims in Mina during the 2023 hajj exercise.

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGSMPWB), announced the disbursement in a release made available to the media dated 5th December, 2024.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Taiwo Ajibola, according to the release, said 1,238 pilgrims who participated in the Hajj exercise will be refunded with the sum of N61, 080 each.

The refund collection will take place between Monday, 9th December and Thursday, 12th December, 2024, the release said.

According to the Board, the affected pilgrims are required to come along with their international passport (original and photocopy) or any other means of identification to the Board’s office, at  Block B, Governor’s office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

"This refund is a result of the efforts of the National Hajj Commission and the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to ensure that pilgrims receive fair compensation for services not rendered.

"Pilgrims are advised to take note of the refund collection dates and requirements." The statement reads.

It would be recall that the National Hajj Commission, last week, announced the refund of N5bn to the 95,000 Nigerian with each entitled to 150 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to N61, 080, for services not rendered to them.
