The first runner up in the last Saturday’s presidential election and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has described the election as the worst since the return of democracy in Nigeria.
The former Vice President, during a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, described the election as a rape on democracy, saying it was neither free, fair or credible.
The former Vice President wondered why the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was in a hurry to announce the result of the election despite reservations by many Nigerians.
Atiku said faults in the process of the election were attested to by both local and international observers, adding that the battle to write the wrong is not about Atiku but about the future of Nigeria.
He said everything was working for Nigeria in the election until ''dreams and aspiration of many Nigerians were shattered."
