Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has appointed an erudite Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Professor Kamaldeen Balogun as the Amirl Hajj to lead the intending pilgrims from the State on 2022 hajj exercise.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, the Chief Imam of Ikenne, Alhaji Kehinde Husayn Lawal, will also chair the ad hoc committee for the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Others appointed to serve as members, according to the statement, include Dr. Kola Olawunmi, Sheikh Iskeel Lawal (Sugar), Sheikh Rufai Sile and Imam AbdulGaniyu Ejalonibu.
Other include Imam Uthman Fasasi Akeukowo, Imam AbdulWasiu Adeniyi Akinboyede, Tunde Oladunjoye, Alhaja Bisola Aliu, Dr. Kamilu Akano Raji and Alhaja Yemi Kudirat Rabiu.
“The ad hoc commission will supervise the 2022 Hajj operations by the state pilgrims,” the statement concluded.
Governor Abiodun has not constituted the Board of the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in the last three years.
